On May 16, devastating tornadoes swept through St. Louis, MO, leaving destruction in their path—but not despair. Amid loss and heartbreak, Adventist Community Services has come with compassion and resilience to serve the community.

On Friday, May 23, Adventist Community Services (ACS) partnered with Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church to launch a disaster relief distribution center in St. Louis. The effort continued on Friday, May 30, at Lighthouse Seventh-day Adventist Church—led by Pastor McKenzie, who is spearheading both locations. Berean Church and the St. Louis Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church will remain active distribution sites.

Helps us bring relief to tornado-affected communities

ACS is looking for compassionate and reliable volunteers to assist at our warehouse in St. Louis, where donations are being, collected, sorted, and prepared for distribution to residents in the affected areas. Your time and effort can make a real difference for individuals and families who are still recovering from this disaster.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Clerical and administrative office work, including data entry
  • Forklift operation
  • Box truck driving (CDL not required)
  • Receiving and unloading donated items
  • Sorting and organizing supplies (food, hygiene, cleaning, etc)
  • Packing boxes for delivery to distribution centers
  • Loading supplies for community events
  • Cleaning and maintaining a safe warehouse environment

Who can volunteer:

  • Individuals 16 and older (volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian)
  • Church groups, schools, Pathfinder clubs, families
  • No prior experience necessary - training will be provided on-site

What to bring:

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Comfortable clothing
  • A servant's heart and a willingness to help.
