What is ACS Community Development/Urban Ministry Program? (ACS CD/UM)
ACS CD/UM Program is a service provided by Adventist Community Services, the humanitarian agency of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that works within the United States and Bermuda.
What does ACS Community Development/Urban Ministry Program Do?
ACS CD/UM Program provides vital help to individuals and families who are unemployed, working-poor, uninsured and disadvantaged in poverty stricken and urban areas. It offers relief services, promotes individual and community development that includes equipping community members with skills to become self-sufficient and engages in public advocacy.
Who are ACS Community Development/Urban Ministry Program Partners?
ACS CD/UM Program works in partnership with Adventist church members, civic leaders, other humanitarian and religious-affiliated agencies, community residents and volunteers to form coalitions that will protect and advance the interests of inner city communities.
How is ACS Community Development/Urban Ministry Program Effective?
ACS CD/UM Program makes services accessible to communities by locating in the heart of neighborhoods and becoming familiar with residents to nurture their hope, self-value and ability to succeed. It addresses problems that plague urban areas like drugs, violence and crime and organizes individuals into community protection and empowerment groups through innovative methods.
