Deadly twisters tear through Midwest
The Iowa-Missouri Conference Adventist Community Services-Disaster Response is monitoring the tornado damage in the towns of Thurman and Creston, IA. Roy Weeden, Director for ACS-DR in Missouri is staying on top of the situation. Roy has been in touch with the President of Iowa’s VOAD (known as the IDHRC) as well as FEMA. If a response is needed by our organization, he will send out an alert and call for volunteers.
Our friends in the Oklahoma and Kansas-Nebraska Conferences seem to have taken the worst of it last night especially in Woodward, OK and Wichita, KS. Five people are known dead in Oklahoma. Roy has reached out to them if added support is needed. Please be in prayer for our people in the heartland that the storms will be moderated.
Please continue to pray for those affected by these continuing disasters as well as those who so generously give of their time to help others in need.
